This site is built to be usable by everyone who needs a plumber, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, voice control, or a browser at a large text size. Emergency plumbing is not a thing anyone should have to fight an interface to arrange.
What this site aims for
The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. That is the standard the site is built and tested against; it is a target rather than a certification, and no formal third-party audit has been carried out.
What has been done
- Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, and the focus outline is left visible rather than removed.
- The booking form works without JavaScript, so it does not silently fail when a script does not load.
- Text is real text, not pictures of text, and it reflows without loss of content when the browser is zoomed.
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Headings follow a single logical order on each page, so a screen reader can be used to navigate.
- Body text and interface colours are chosen to meet the contrast ratios the standard sets.
- The phone number is a real link on every page, so it can be dialled without being read out and retyped.
Known limitations
The service area map is a visual aid. The same information, the towns covered, is written out in text beside it and in the site footer, so nothing is available only on the map.

If any part of this site stops you doing what you came to do, please say so through the contact page or by calling the number at the top of any page, and describe the page and what happened. Reports are acted on rather than filed.
If you need to arrange work and the site is in your way, call instead. Nobody is asked to use the website to reach a plumber.
